The howling wind of the Lacleish Plains always reminded Kirel of the Pictish hordes and their animalistic warcries. Without thought, he pulled the cloak around him tigher while he rested his eyes.Seemingly minutes later, a rough shaked jogged him awake. He looked up into the hooded eyes of Meram, gave the woman a rough grin and asked for the expected report.


"My Lord", his executive started. "Per your instructions, the keep has been built and the command structure is in place. It may be a while until the walls are up and the rest of the city populated but our stake has been planted and woe to any who try to take it from us. As you have forseen, the Call of Flame speaks to souls and many I thought lost to Set or Crom or that weakling Mitra now stand resolute at your side."


Kirel's nostrils flared slightly under the deluge of words. Such eloquence from Meram was unusal at best. "Perhaps" he thought. "Perhaps it is time." Without saying a word he strode from the room and motioned for Meram to follow. Halfway down into the keep halls, he froze as the Flame responded to his silent querry.

As a trumpet sounds the clarion call over the battlefield, suddenly Kirel knew what had to happen next. Many were strong but to do the Flames bidding, all must become stronger still. The City must be fully built and populated before ........

Unbidden, visions of battle smashed walls, pools of blood and the sweet smell of burnt flesh assailed Kirel.

" Yes.. YES.. " he muttered aloud, the sound muted by the howling wind.

"Meram. You have done well, but we are not ready. The Call of Flame has brought many to us and many more will come. But we are not ready. We must train, we must struggle and we must overcome to be worthy of the fire. IF we are worthy, the flames will bless us and our enemies will tremble at the name of their salvation. Go! Spread the word. Become Strong! Gather materials for this... pathetic excuse of a city. Go!"

All - It's been a great two weeks. We have a long way to go before we can begin participating in the real endgame though. To build out the first rank of our city will require close to 150 gold and hundreds of items in materials. This link shows the basic needs of a tier 1 city. http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=36843 . To be eligible for a BattleKeep - we must have a tier3 city. So the orders of the day are to Level and gather materials. The cash will come by leveling. By level 50, you should have at least one gold. By level 55, 2 gold. And by level 60, I can easily see having 4 gold. By the time you reach 80, quests alone will have given you close to 20 gold. So Gold won't be the issue. Level and the gold will come. Harvesting resources is going to be the extra step that we all must partake in.

I would like each person to take at least 1 gathering skill. We will have a thread on the forums that discusses who has what skill and which skills are needed.
